Yorimitsu, also called Raikō, one of the most popular of the legendary Japanese warrior heroes and a member of the martial Minamoto clan. In his exploits he is always accompanied by four trusty lieutenants.

Gegege no Kitaro is a very episodic show. It ... And luckily for Gegege no Kitaro, those are consistently good with occasional real standouts. There's a good number of episodes I'd probably recommend to watch even outside of the series just because they are legitimately great, even fantastic in some cases.

This story goes that Kintarō was the child of a beautiful maiden named Princess Yaegiri and a samurai named Sakata. To escape the fighting between his dad and his uncle, Kintarō's mother decided to go into hiding in the mountains of Kintoki.Sep 1, 2012

Kintarō is supposedly based on a real person, Sakata Kintoki, who lived during the Heian period and probably came from what is now the city of Minamiashigara, Kanagawa. He served as a retainer for the samurai Minamoto no Yorimitsu and became well known for his abilities as a warrior.
