Astro Boy, known in Japan by its original name Mighty Atom (Japanese: 鉄腕アトム, Hepburn: Tetsuwan-Atomu, lit. 'Iron-Armed Atom'), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka.
Astro Boy is a 2009 computer-animated superhero film loosely based on the manga series of the same name by the Japanese writer and illustrator Osamu Tezuka. Produced by the Hong Kong-based company Imagi Animation Studios, it was directed by David Bowers, who co-wrote the screenplay with Timothy Hyde Harris.

The earliest anime that was produced in Japan to have survived into the modern day, The Dull Sword, was released on June 30, 1917, but there it is disputed which title was the first to get that honour.
In November 2008, financing fell through, resulting in a risk that Astro Boy would be cancelled and those working on the film would lose their jobs. Astro Boy is an animated action adventure. It is tailored to a younger audience (8-13 years), but it contains some dark themes and some images that could scare younger children.
Fun and exciting movie
It is a little bit sad and deals with the death of a family member. The main character has machine guns on his hands, they don't hurt people, only robots.
